Big Stud Offers For 3YO Primus

Breeding and Racing Daily Bulletin - 10 October 2005

Sydney-based part-owners Iskander Racing revealed 3YO Primus (the other colt flattened during the early skirmish in the Gr1 Caulfield Guineas, who then flew home from the tail of the field in the straight to grab 3rd placing) “has been the subject of multi-million dollar offers from studs seeking to secure him for future stallion duties,” reported thoroughbrednews.co.nz. Primus (Flying Spur-Copa De Oro, by Hector Protector) won the Listed Ming Dynasty (1400m) at Randwick on September 3 & then finished 2nd behind top 3YO Paratroopers in the Gr2 Stan Fox Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on September 24; still in his 1st preparation, Primus (a NZ$120,000 yearling at the 2004 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale) now boasts 2 wins & 3 placings in 5 starts for $198,280 prize-money. His sire is top-level Arrowfield Stud stallion Flying Spur (Danehill-Rolls, by Mr Prospector); & his dam Copa de Oro (a member of the illustrious Denise’s Joy family) is a half-sister to juvenile stakes-winner Miss Minden (dam of Queensland Oaks winner Miss Danehill, as well as multiple stakes-winner Pentastic).
