A grandson of Halo, Sunday Knight is highly eligible for matings with Northern Dancer line mares.
Northern Dancer and Halo share ALMAHMOUD as their granddam. Others from this family include Catrail, Danehill, Eagle Eyed, El Moxie, Youthful Legs, L’Emigrant and Arctic Tern.
Star Kingdom, to whom Sunday Knight’s dam is linebred, also works very well with Northern Dancer.
Sunday Knight’s damsire Bletchingly has a particular affinity with Danzig, who shares the same tail-female line. Danzig sires with daughters of breeding age include Snaadee, Mister C., Danehill, Eagle Eyed, Anabaa, Hamas, Darbonne, Monongahela and Mukddaam.
Bletchingly’s damsire Relic is from the family of Raise a Native and Blue Larkspur. This brings in mares by sons/ grandsons of Mr. Prospector such as Woodman, Mr. Henrysee, Bellotto, Harvey Pack, Saw Mill, Clang, Geiger Counter, El Moxie, Jade Hunter, Canadian Silver, Varick, Thunder Gulch, Secret Savings, Raise A Cup, Clear Choice and Umatilla. Zoffany and Clear Choice are also descendants of Raise a Native.
Blue Larkspur is strong in Roberto – one of his daughters is a stakes winner by Sunday Silence. Roberto is found in damsires such as Rodwell, At Talaq, Brocco, Pirate Army, Red Ransom, Sri Pekan, Memento, Undercut and Sarason.
Successful son of Sunday Silence, Bubble Gum Fellow is out of a Lyphard mare. Suitable broodmare sires carrying Lyphard include Alzao, Dahar, Rainbows for Life, River of Light, Jade Hunter and Johann Quatz.
Another top Sunday Silence performer is Fuji Kiseki, whose damsire is Le Fabuleux. A close relation of Wilkes, mares carrying this influence may be very interesting with Sunday Knight.
