Intuit Makes Amends

Blue-blooded Commands filly Intuit made amends for her narrow last start defeat when a red hot favourite, finishing strongly to claim victory in the restricted fillies event over 1100 metres at Canterbury on Wednesday.
Bred and retained to race by Paul Fleming, Intuit is prepared by Gerald Ryan and has won two of four starts and closed out her autumn campaign with a fourth in the Listed AJC Keith Mackay Quality.
Intuit is the tenth foal of Bletchingly Group One winner Wrap Around, who has had an intriguing career at stud having travelled to the Northern Hemisphere in the early years and then changing hands on a number of occasions since her return to Australia in 1998.
An under-performer herself as a broodmare despite visiting stallions such as Wild Again, Sunday Silence and Royal Academy, Wrap Around redeemed herself through the deeds of her Northern Hemisphere bred daughter Attire (USA) (by Wild Again), the dam of champion two year-old Fashions Afield.
On-sold by Tyreel Stud at the 2007 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $100,000 to New Zealand based Stoney Bridge Thoroughbreds, Wrap Around is now in New Zealand and her last foal for Tyreel Stud, a colt by Commands made $70,000 at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale earlier this year.
Another of Wrap Around’s imported daughters Twist My Heart (USA) had the honour of producing the top priced weanling at the Magic Millions National Sale where her colt by Redoute’s Choice made $700,000 for Swettenham Stud to the bid of Blue Sky Thoroughbreds.
